A whole month of small, joyful, local climate action
Leighton Buzzard’s Great Big Green Week brings together local groups, volunteers and neighbours to celebrate nature, creativity and practical climate action. It’s a friendly, grassroots programme — lots of small events, all designed to help people connect, learn something new, and feel hopeful about the future.

- Creative activities — from recycled crafts to an art‑supplies swap running all month
- Inspiring films & talks — climate documentaries, local energy stories, and a talk on Bedfordshire’s birdlife
- Hands‑on nature experiences — family foraging, eco socials, and a summer solstice event
- Skills for everyday life — learn‑to‑ride cycling lessons, plus the monthly Repair Café
- Moments of joy — the “Green Joy in Unexpected Places” photo competition open all month
