Get your school involved in Great Big Green Week

Children and young people are our best advocates for climate and nature and there are plenty of ways to get your school involved.

We have free resource packs available for primary and secondary schools, linked to the national curriculum, and packed with activities for all ages.

Perhaps your eco club could run an event, or the eco committee could meet to discuss how to make their school or wider community more environmentally friendly?

We would love for you to join our live lesson link up with a school in Malawi, in partnership with Save the Children, to learn what its like to be living with the effects of climate change.

To receive your free school resource pack and information about our live lesson, just fill out the form below and we’ll send it straight to your inbox.

School communities coming together for good

Woodford County High School has been involved in Great Big Green Week for two years in a row. Their activities and ambition grow each year, engaging more students, parents and others in their local community outside of the school - including their local council. They have run activities from food waste and composting workshops, sewing and repair workshop, and brought in a more climate conscious curriculum to the whole school. Their Green Week activities help students to develop leadership, bring the school and wider community together, and really highlight the climate and nature issues that are important to the school.

We spoke to members of staff and students about their Great Big Green Week activities, and the wider impact it's had for the school and their community - watch this short video to find out more!

Creative for Climate Justice

This joint resource from Christian Aid, Cafod, Oxfam, and Send My Friend to School asks young people to use their creativity and share their messages with their communities and decision-makers during Great Big Green Week. The teaching resources support young people to explore climate change as an issue of justice and to create artworks to express their concerns, ideas, and hopes for a just and sustainable world. Please note you will need to follow the prompts to register an account with Padlet to access this resource.
