The Big Bolton Wildlife Friendly Garden Competition

  • Date: March 29, 2026 at 12:00am - August 16, 2026 at 12:00am
  • Location: Online
  • Organiser: Rotary Bolton Lever

Rotary Bolton Lever are asking all Bolton residents to do a little bit to support wildlife – together we can make a real difference!

Rotary Bolton Lever are inviting everyone across Bolton to play a part in helping local wildlife thrive — because together, even small actions can make a huge difference!

Creating wildlife-friendly outdoor spaces doesn’t just provide essential food, shelter and habitats for nature — it can brighten our neighbourhoods, lift our wellbeing, reduce stress, and create greener places the whole community can enjoy and feel proud of.

And the best part? You don’t even need a garden to get involved. Even a single pot of flowers can become a buzzing mini haven for bees and butterflies. Balconies, yards, patios, window boxes and shared spaces can all help support wildlife, especially in urban areas where nature needs us most.

We’re not searching for perfect “show gardens” — wildlife prefers things a little wilder! A patch of long grass, flowering weeds, or a small pile of twigs and branches can provide food and shelter for countless creatures.

Every flower planted, every wild corner left to grow, and every small step taken will help make Bolton a better place for wildlife — and for people too.
