Willow Basket Making Demonstration at Holt Island

Come and watch a free demonstration of traditional willow basket making techniques by John Conkey of the Basket Makers Association. Basket making was a major industry in St Ives in the 19th and early 20th centuries when Holt Island, now a Nature Reserve, was a commercial willow plantation, and we will also have a variety of baskets from Harrisons, the local company, on display.
