Community Meadow Restoration Day

  • Date: June 07, 2026 - 1pm till 5pm
  • Location: Long Mead Local Wildlife Site, Horseshoe Island, Witney, OX29 4DU
  • Organiser: Nature Recovery Network

Come and with your picnic lunch to discover one of the rarest habitats in the UK, an ancient wildflower meadow in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. June is the most glorious time of the year down at the meadow.

We'll meet at Long Mead Local Wildlife Site at 1.00pm to eat lunch together - please bring your own picnic and drinks - there will likely be cake!

At 2.00pm we'll start activities to support the restoration of the meadows.

Tasks will include plant propagation: making compost / potting on rare wildflowers and hedge care. It is always helpful if you can arrive at the beginning so that we can brief everyone together.

NB: There is no parking on site. Please use public transport or walk or cycle if possible or park on Wharf road or at Eynsham playing fields.

Please tell the leader on the day if you would prefer not be photographed.
