In a world built for cars, one mother set out in search of freedom — and found a movement. MOTHERLOAD is a crowd-sourced, heart-opening documentary that follows filmmaker and new mom Liz Canning as she discovers the cargo bike — a simple, powerful tool transforming how families move, live, and connect.
What begins as one woman’s quest to reconnect with joy and sustainability becomes a global story of community, empowerment, and resistance to a culture of isolation and overconsumption. Through personal stories, vibrant activism, and the hum of two wheels, MOTHERLOAD celebrates the people — and especially the mothers — who are redefining what progress looks like. This is not just a film about bikes. It’s a film about carrying what matters. Ride with the revolution. Rediscover your power. Carry the future
90 minutes.
Cargo bikes will be on display and there will be refreshments.
Cate Oliver from Our Power will speak for a couple of minutes, following the film, about Our Power and how people can get involved to be local energy champions, sharing useful information with their neighbours and communities to help address the climate crisis through domestic measures.
