Free Family Nature Day Returns to Market Rasen This June
Market Rasen’s popular Wildlife in Your Backyard event is back – and it’s bigger than ever
Market Rasen is set to come alive with wildlife this summer as the Rasen Area Environment Group (RAEG) brings back its much-loved annual Nature Day for a fifth year running.
Wildlife in Your Backyard – Market Rasen Nature Day is a free, family-friendly event at Bell Park, offering a full day of hands-on activities, wildlife encounters and eco-theatre for all ages. Entry is free and everything on the day is free to take part in.
Now firmly established in the town’s calendar, the event draws 300–500 local residents each year and has grown through word of mouth, with wildlife and environmental organisations contacting RAEG to offer their support.
What’s on?
Visitors can enjoy a packed programme including:
• Bug hunts and wildlife discovery activities
• Forest-school style nature crafts
• Organic growing and pollinator-friendly gardening
• Animal encounters, delivered to high welfare standards
• Performances by Rhubarb Theatre, whose eco-themed shows proved hugely popular in 2024
• Information and demonstrations from local wildlife and environmental organisations covering chalk streams, pollinators and bees, bats, badgers, butterflies and more
