Tree Care Event in Morden Park

Join us Merton Friends of the Earth for this event in Morden Park, London SM4 on Saturday 13 June to care for the 1,800+ tree saplings planted to date, as part of our ongoing campaign to double tree cover in the London Borough of Merton. All welcome!

A little more info about this event...

Tree planting is just the beginning - why does tree care matter?

Tree care involves weeding and adding mulch around tree saplings. This is an essential part to support young trees' early growth, and gives them the best chance to thrive as weeds compete with saplings for water, sunlight, and nutrients.

What you'll do:

During the event, volunteers will help us look after the young tree saplings by weeding and adding mulch around them. Everyone is welcome - no experience needed! Training and tools will be provided

What to bring/ wear:

  1. Gardening gloves & sturdy shoes
  2. Weather-appropriate clothing
  3. A drink and snack (optional) - tree care is thirsty work, but rewarding!

Come along to meet like-minded people and make a real impact in your local community.

This Event hosted by Merton Friends of the Earth with the support from Merton Tree Wardens and in partnership with Friends of Morden Park. Tree saplings are donated by The Woodland Trust.
