Edward spent January this year sailing in the Antarctic peninsula, enjoying close encounters with whales, observing the hilarious antics of penguins and kayaking amongst beautiful icebergs, all captured in photos and film clips. It is the most astounding place: a vision of what the planet looks like when nature is left alone!
The expedition was also a reminder of how the future of humanity will be determined by our oceans.
Having sailed all the oceans of the world, Edward’s talk will describe the connection you feel with the energy of planet as you sail. What is it like to helm during a Pacific storm? How do you cope with big waves? What is life like below decks for weeks on end?
Suitable for all ages, including families and children. People can just attend this event or stay on for the National Emergency Briefing which will follow at 7.30.
