Byland Abbey: What we can learn from Medieval Monks about sustainable living

An introduction to the lives of the medieval monks who lived at Byland Abbey and how their lifestyle can compare with modern views of sustainability led by English Heritage volunteer Paul.

 

Please meet at the site entrance to Byland Abbey next to the volunteer run bookshop where Paul will meet you at 2pm to begin the guided walking tour of Byland Abbey.

This event is not suitable for children under the age of 16 years old.

This event has been graded as moderate access. There will be limited places to stop and rest during the walk and may include some uneven terrain and steps. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the house, only to the visitor centre, exterior and grounds.
