This gentle 3km walk (approximately 2 hours) will explore how carefully managed grazing supports wildlife, soil health and promotes biodiversity across the unique coastal grassland habitats of this site south of Bristol.
Meet Joel, the grazier and National Trust Ranger who farms this stretch of Somerset coast.
Along the way, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the animals, the habitats they help sustain, and the traditional practices that keep Sand Point thriving.
June is a perfect time to view the wild flowers across this landscape. We'll also meet the Traditional Hereford cattle, ancient Bagot goat breed and learn how they work with the flock of Shetland sheep in relationship with the land.
Perfect for nature lovers of all ages—come along to explore, learn, and see the landscape from a new perspective.
Sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing is strongly recommended.
Please note that the route includes steps and sections of uneven, rocky terrain, which may make it unsuitable for those with limited mobility or certain access needs.
