Balsam Bash - National Trust Help Out Day

- Location: Elterwater National Trust Car Park, Elterwater National Trust Car Park, Ambleside, LA22 9HU
- Organiser: National Trust

Make a difference by coming along to this day run by our Ranger team. You'll be pulling the balsam out of the ground before the seed pods ripen, helping to reduce the spread of the plant in the area. No experience necessary and you don't need to be a National Trust volunteer.
We'll meet at the National Trust Elterwater car park at 10am. If arriving by car please allow enough time to park. We will return back to the car park for 3pm.
To reduce car use we'd encourage you to use the 516 bus where possible. It runs through the village, get off at the Britannia Inn stop.
Please bring your own lunch, snacks and water. Wear sun protection, comfy clothes (we recommend long sleeves and long trousers to avoid tics) walking shoes, boots or wellies.
We will be walking on rugged paths and on uneven ground where the balsam grows.
Note: we are not close to a toilet. The closest toilets are at the Elterwater car park, a 20 minute walk away.
