National Trust - Window to the Wild
- Date: May 30, 2026 - 10am
- Location: Victoria Square, Birmingham, Birmigham, B1 1BD
- Organiser: National Trust - Window to the Wild
Here in the UK, there are several puffin colonies, with one the most significant found on the Farne Islands, in Northumberland. Each year thousands of couples make the islands their home, during breeding season. Cared for by the National Trust, rangers are able monitor population numbers – an important marker in the health of our oceans.
For the second year, the National Trust will be streaming live footage of the puffins as they arrive on the islands. Viewers will be able to experience the birds as they reclaim burrows and hopefully welcome pufflings into the world.
New for 2026, the footage will be shown in city centres across Wales, England and Northern Ireland. Six cities will host Window to the Wild vans, which will be streaming the live footage across two days per city.
Alongside the footage, visitors to the vans will be able to meet National Trust wildlife specialists, learn some fun facts and hopefully settle down in the sunshine and experience these remote yet characterful birds on their own doorstep.
