Small art exhibition and launch of the Eel Support Group at Y Storfa, Union St, Swansea.
Eels have culturally and nutritionally been important worldwide for centuries. But now they are in severe decline. They have declined by 90% since the 1970s. Over- fishing, pollution, man-made barriers have all contributed to their reduced numbers. The Eel Group is an informal, not for profit group aimed at raising awareness about these fascinating creatures, and hopefully increasing the local populations.
