We’re excited to be taking part in Great Big Green Week 2026 once again this year, bringing our community together around one shared theme: rivers.

Throughout the week, we’ve got a brilliant programme of events designed to get you outdoors, learning and taking action. From a Butterfly Transect Walk and River Bat Walk, to a Writing About Rivers workshop, Wild Food Walk, Nature Surveying Day on the Mount, and a Get Growing session at Rosamund Community Garden, there are lots of ways to get involved.

We’ll also be on Guildford High Street for Guildford Green Day, where you can come and chat to us about the state of our local rivers and see how we test for pollutants and E. coli in our community lab.

Alongside the events, we’re launching a fundraising campaign to support a Guildford Residents’ river testing site on the River Wey, helping us carry out regular weekly testing for the year ahead.

This is all part of a growing local effort, working alongside partners like the River Wey Trust and Water Rangers, to better understand and protect our waterways.
