Westbury Environmental Fete Event

Organised by Wiltshire Council Westbury Area Board and Westbury Town Council, the event is aimed to promote our local environment, wildlife and biodiversity, and raise awareness of our local environment community groups. The event is free of charge and has been designed to engage all the community to make small everyday local actions. There will be the Explorer Dome delivering short immersive environmental workshops and interactive activities to engage young people and families. There will be a range of community information stalls for information and advice, including Public Health Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub, Waste and Recycling, Woodlands Trust, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Warm and Safe Wiltshire, Wiltshire Geology Group, Wiltshire Butterfly Conservation, Westbury Pollinator corridor project, and Heat Pump Federation. The event will also include a traditional town fete element with competitions such as the Best home grown veg basket and the Best jar of homemade jam. There will be a dog show delivered by Dogs For Health as part of the event, with categories including Best puppy, Best senior, Dog that looks most like it’s owner and Best junior handler. The event will include a wide range of music from local musicians, free giant games to enjoy through the afternoon, along with refreshments. The day is aimed to engage all the community to demonstrate how we all play a vital role in changing our planet.
