UNISON’S Newcastle City Branch taking part in the Great Big Green Week. This is the biggest celebration of climate centred community action. We will be running community-centred activities throughout the week, bringing people together, increasing wellbeing in uncertain times, and giving back to our community. As part of UNISON’s Year of Green Activity, Newcastle City Branch have organised a number of activities for the Great Big Green Week (8th – 14th June).
Below are the events that anyone can engage with:
Lunchtime Litter Pick Cruddas Park, NE4 6RP – Wednesday 10th June 12pm - 1pm
Join us to clean up our local community during your lunch break. We will be working with Newcastle City Council's waste engagement team to clean up Cruddas Park. Transport will be provided from Civic Centre.
Nature Break Yoga The Quad, Civic Centre - Thursday 11th June 11:30am - 12:15pm
Connect with nature with an outdoor yoga session to celebrate our Year of Green Activity (YoGA) in style. Please being your own matt, but we can supply a few if needed.
People’s Emergency Briefing Star and Shadow Cinema, NE2 1BB - Wednesday 10th June 6pm - 9pm (6pm food and film starting 7:30pm)
National Emergency Briefing film screening on the climate and nature crisis with Star and Shadow’s Community Kitchen food and activities.
