The families and children of St Pius X Catholic Primary School in Barrow-in-Furness are participating in Big Green Week by holding a Green Day. They will wear green to reflect the planet and will be encouraged to swap plastic wrappers for reusable containers, swap unhealthy snacks for healthy and to make planet friendly choices for lunches. The school kitchen is changing all the main meals to plant-based ones on this day too, with the hope it raises awareness of the impact eating meat, using single use plastics and unhealthy food has on our earth and also on their own bodies.
