Nature Day at Dunstable Downs

  • Date: June 15, 2025 - 10am till 5pm
  • Location: Dunstable Downs , Chilterns Gateway Centre, Dunstable, LU6 2GY
  • Organiser: National Trust Dunstable Downs

Join us for Nature Day at Dunstable Downs - a free, family-friendly celebration of wildlife, wildflowers, and the incredible local community work helping to protect them. As part of Great Big Green Week, the UK’s biggest celebration of community action for nature and climate, Nature Day brings together local charities, organisations, and visitors in a day packed with fun, discovery, and inspiration. With a festival feel, stalls and activities will be set up across the grass, offering plenty of chances to learn, create, and connect with nature. What’s on? • Wildlife Trust Bedfordshire: visit their stall for fun activities and to learn about local wildlife projects. • Central Bedfordshire Council: discover how the Local Nature Recovery Strategy is supporting nature near you. • Nature rubbings craft station: create art from what you find in nature. • Nature scavenger hunt: will you find everything on the list? • Butterfly survey sheet: take 10 quiet minutes in nature to spot and record butterflies across the Downs. • Owl pellet dissection: a hands-on look at what owls eat and how we learn from it. • Meet a National Trust ranger: learn about their conservation work and see some of the machinery they use. • Orchids and Wildflowers Walk: a gentle guided stroll to see the Downs’ seasonal showstoppers. 10.30am. Booking required via our what's on page. £4 adults, £2 children. Sunday 15 June, drop in anytime between 10.00am and 5.00pm. Free entry to the event (normal car parking charges apply. Orchid walk requires booking).
