Guided nature and wildlife walk at Monks Wall Nature Reserve, Sandwich led by Warden Ken Chapman. Main entrance is via a small car park off Monks Way, just before the junction to the A256. Parking is very limited. Alternative and recommended access is on foot through the gate opposite the entrance to Sandwich Industrial Estate and along the farm track which will take you to the entrance. This reserve recreates, from arable fields, traditional wet grazing meadows once common to the flood plain of the River Stour. The habitat attracts large numbers of wintering wildfowl and waders from the arctic that find sanctuary in the reserve, while breeding waterfowl and other wetland species occur in the summer. Please note there are no toilets on site. Please wear suitable shoes for walking on rough ground. Dogs are not permitted on the nature reserve.
