Join us for a week of fun green events! All events are free (normal admission applies/free for members) unless specified. Alongside the below events the team will be sharing their green tips on socials throughout the week, we also have yoga prompts in the gardens and a pest themed trail around the Abbey!

Saturday 7th June - Low Waste Tudor Cooking (11am - 1pm) As it is Great Big Green Week, the Historic Cooks will be focused on the low waste attitudes of Tudor Cooks and providing inspiration for our own modern lives. Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th June - Wildflower seed planting (12pm - 2pm) Plant a pot of wildflower seeds to take home and watch grow! In the Great Barn

Sunday 8th June - Ranger Ramble (1pm) Accompany Ranger Steve for a ramble around the estate. This informative walk will give families a chance to learn more about the nature that surrounds us and what the team are currently doing at Buckland Abbey to protect nature. There will be children's nature activities as part of the walk and children will have the chance to get creative with nature at the end of the walk.

Tuesday 10th June - Willow Birdfeeder Workshop (10am - 1pm) Join local willow artist Jasmine Fassenfelt who will show you how to make swallows and dragonflies out of natural willow. In this three hour workshop, you will get a feel for how to work with the material, and Jasmine will guide you at every stage. No previous experience in the craft is necessary. Please note that willow weaving can get fiddly so it is not recommended for people who experience bad joint pain in their hands. £45.00 per ticket, please book via the Buckland Abbey website.

Wednesday 11th June - Conservation in Action (11:30am - 1:30pm) This Great Big Green Week learn how we take care of our collection using eco friendly tools and cleaning materials.

Friday 13th June - Guided Bird Walk (9am - 11am) Join experts from the Devon Bird Group for a guided walk on the Buckland estate. £5.00 per person, please book through the Buckland Abbey website.

Saturday 14th June - Devon Wildlife Trust Pop-up stall - 10am - 5pm Find out more about their work and how you can help.

Sunday 15th June - Bird House Decorating - 11am - 1pm Help us to encourage wildlife in the woodlands here at Buckland by decorating a bird box (one per group), which will then be installed out on the estate. We'll send you a What3Words location so that you can come back and find your box when you go for a walk. Free event but booking essential, please book through the Buckland Abbey website.

Sunday 15th June - Seed Bomb Making - 11am - 1pm Join Ranger Kate and create your own seed bombs to grow your own wildflower patch at home.
