As part of this year’s Great Big Green Week and Festival of Nature (6th – 14th June), Frampton Cotterell Parish Council will be hosting a bunch of fun and free community events and activities!

Take a look at the details of our planned events, below. Everyone is welcome!

Frampton Cotterell Repair Café First Birthday Special

Date: Saturday 6th June.

Time: 11AM – 1PM.

Location: The Royal British Legion, Frampton Cotterell, BS36 2HW.

Join us to celebrate the first birthday of our Frampton Cotterell Repair Café!

Honestly, we can’t believe it has already been a whole year… but what a year it has been!

Come along to find out what we achieved this first year and how you could volunteer (we really need another sewist…!).

As always, everyone is welcome to bring along broken items. Our volunteers can do free repairs on electricals, appliances, woodwork, furniture, basic jewellery repairs, sewing, tool sharpening and more.

Community Nature Reserve Social

Date: Wednesday 10th June.

Time: 7:30PM.

Location: The Royal British Legion, Frampton Cotterell, BS36 2HW.

Anyone interested in local nature is invited to come along to this free, fun and friendly social evening centred on our Frampton Cotterell Community Nature Reserve.

We’ll have information about the Community Nature Reserve project, plus knowledgeable people who can tell you all about it!

Chat with other local people, play skittles, and enjoy free buffet food provided by the parish council. The bar will also be open for the purchase of drinks.

Everyone is welcome, no booking required – just turn up!

Bat Walk

Date: Thursday 11th June.

Time: 9:45PM.

Location: starting at St. Peters Church in Frampton Cotterell.

Our resident bat expert, Nature Officer Daisy, is here to lead you on a fantastic bat walk right here in the village!

Not only will Daisy be there to answer your questions about local bats, you will also be able to listen to their calls throughout the walk using our bat detector devices. As fascinating as it is fun, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Everyone welcome, including children. No booking required, just turn up. Please be aware that the walk route will include uneven and undulating surfaces which may be unsuitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs or those with mobility issues. Please wear suitable shoes for walking.

Nature Walk

Date: Saturday 13th June.

Time: 10AM.

Location: starting at Mill Lane.

Join our Wildlife Officer David to enjoy a free guided nature walk.

The route may include stiles and uneven ground which can be muddy, so please wear stout footwear. The route may not be suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs, or people with mobility issues. If you would like more information on the route, please email David on [email protected].

No need to book – just turn up on the day! Families are welcome, but no dogs except assistance dogs.

Moth Club

Date: Sunday 14th June.

Time: 10AM.

Location: The Brockeridge Centre, BS36 2LQ.

Come along to the Brockeridge Centre at 10AM on Sunday 14th of June for Moth Club.

We’ll be opening up the moth traps from the night before to take a look at (and try to identify!) the moths we’ve caught. Come along and meet the moths!

Children are welcome (with a guardian), but unfortunately this session is unable to accommodate dogs except for service dogs.

This session is free and everyone is welcome – no need to book!
