Film Night with Solva Community Cinema

  • Date: June 11, 2025 - 7pm till 9:30pm
  • Location: Solva Memorial Hall, 39 High Street, Haverfordwest, SA62 6TE
  • Organiser: EcoDewi / Solva Community Cinema

Join us at we watch an inspiring and positive film about what technologies and opportunities might exist for us to tackle the effects of climate change. Doors open at 7pm and after the film, for those that have time, there might be time for an informal discussion of how people felt about the film and what we can take from it to benefit us locally. The evening is FREE but a suggested donation of £5 per person would be appreciated if you are able to. The film covers a range of topics including: ☀️ How renewable energy can be used to create micro-grids to enable communities to produce, own and trade their own energy. 🚗 Mobility and how a move away from car-ownership through self-driving cars and ride-sharing to promote green spaces and more liveable cities. 🐮 Agriculture and how a shift towards regenerative agricultural can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help carbon sequestration whilst enabling greater resilience. 🌊 The many uses of seaweeds, seaweed ecosystems and the sustainable harvest of seaweeds and fish to help guarantee food security while regenerating marine life and sequestering carbon. 👩 Plus the societal benefits of the empowerment of women and girls, notably through education. Yes, for those who have been to our GBGW events before you may remember the film as we showed it in 2021 but we loved it so much and it was so inspiring, we're showing it again! Huge thanks to Solva Community Cinema for their support once again.
