In celebration of The Great Big Green Week (7th-15th June 2025), the Green Screen Youth Take-Over is hosting a special evening of film screenings and panel discussions under the theme "Cumbria Swap for Good". We are screening Agbetsi Living Water Swim (15-minutes), activist Yvette Tetteh's 450km swim down the Volta River in Ghana, asking the question "What does a swim have to do with textile waste and the future we're working to create?", followed by the documentary Fast Fashion: the Real Price of Low-Cost Fashion (53-minutes), a walk-through of Europe's fast fashion industry. Following the films, we will share a panel discussion between Gail Gravett (Cumbria Clothing Collective), Amanda Slattery (Maya Maya, Kendal), Kay Groundwater (Identity, Barrow) and Finn Windhill (Restore Cumbria), to cover topics raised in the films and ask the question of Cumbria Swap for Good. This will be open to the audience, so please bring your questions! The evening is in collaboration with Another Way, The Power of Ten, On The Same Page, and Zero Carbon Cumbria. We look forward to seeing you all there!
