Come join us for a scenic stroll through the beautiful hills of Buxton, starting and ending at The Zink Project. Enjoy the fresh air, stunning views, and good company as we explore the local hills and trails together. We will head up through Corbar Woods, to Corbar Cross and onto Combs Moss. This time we strike west along the edge path, crossing the national park boundary and exiting the northern edge, above White Hall. We will descend onto the Roman Road and back into Buxton via Long Hill. This is a great opportunity to learn about the nature of our local woodlands and moorlands, as well as the efforts being made to conserve them. Itinery: Start 945am at The Zink Project for briefing, walk to start at 10am. Finish approx 1400pm. Details: This route will follow local roads to Corbar Woods, ascending on public rights of way to Combs Moss. We will descend back via Long Hill to The Zink Project where hot drinks and snacks will be available. Distance: approx 6.5 miles/11km. Elevation: approx 1150ft/350m. Level of difficulty: Moderate. Terrain: Rocky steep ascents, high stiles, paths and plenty of moorland boggy and soggy areas. PLEASE NOTE - no dogs on this walk due to restrictions on Combs Moss. Safety: this walks is led by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader. This walk includes a short stretch along Long Hill without pavement - we will proceed carefully and all group members must follow safety instructions. A toilet is available at The Zink Project.
