“Are You Flood Ready?”: A Flood Awareness Event for Nailsea and North Somerset

10 - 3 An event to raise awareness of the damage flooding can cause individuals and communities and to demonstrate how we can become more resilient we are bringing the Flood Pod to Nailsea to show how we can become better prepared. It is a unique opportunity to see, in one place, examples of items designed to protect buildings. A nationally respected flood consultant, Mary Long-Dhonau (www.Flood Mary) will be on hand during the event to explain what is on display and answer questions. 5 - 6pm we will be hosting a panel of four excellent speakers including: Simon Bunn (Flood Risk Manager - North Somerset Council) and Mary Long-Dhonau. All have in-depth local knowledge and will talk about the impact of flooding and how to build greater resilience within communities. From 6.00 pm there will be an opportunity for informal chat. Tea, coffee and cake will be available. At 7pm we are showing a flood related film. Free entry to all events and you are welcome to attend all or just one.
